LANDING
IDOL SERIES CONTINUES
The
Landing Idol Series continues - Every Friday
Good
talent or bad, the hit series continues in The
Pub, starting at 9 p.m. Descriptions won't do so
see and hear for yourself. It's fun for the
watchers and the doers, so both
say. |

Octo
Month
No
animals or plants were harmed
in writing this
Honest
and truly, we empathize with Nadya Suleman but
having a litter of eight kiddos is no way like
having a month of 31 days. Mondays are cranky.
Fridays are off their meds. Thursdays want to be
like Fridays. Wednesdays are in tears for being
called Hump Day and Sundays just want to lie
around. What's a month mummy to do? Why celebrate
each and every day, of course. And The Landing at
7 Central in October is a double wicked great
place to start and stay.

Dinner Specials
In The Dining Room
In
keeping with our No Trick, All Treat policy,
October - and an oh-so disappointing economy - has
hastened the return of our three course dinner
in the dining room for $15.
With your choice of a beef, poultry or fish
entrée, you get either soup or chowder plus the
dessert du jour. Off the menu, a similar
tri-perfecta would cost more than $30. So, join us
every mid-week in a delicious way to fight the
recession.
Also,
don't forget on Fridays, we
still offer our All You Can Eat Fish
Fry for $14 and
on Saturdays,
you can enjoy our Prime Rib Special for
$16.

For
Extra Points, Try Our Free Pats Buffet
Because
winning is always rewarding, you can double enjoy
every Patriots game in
The Pub with a free half-time hors
d'oeuvres buffet.
(Those uncompromisingly declaring allegiance to
another team are also welcome... to watch from
across the street.)

Tee
'Em Up - Tuesday, the 4th
There
are still a few spots open for The 12th annual
Landing Golf Tournament on Tuesday at The Meadow
in Peabody. It's a 12:30
p.m. scramble, followed by prizes, a prime rib
dinner and war stories at The Landing in
Manchester. As always, it's a good time and
it benefits the Manchester-Essex Rotary
Clubs' scholarship fund. Call Chris Shea
(978-526-7494) for entry and to share a virtual
golf cart with Catherine Zeta Jones.

Saturdays
- The Acoustic Tavern
Every
Saturday The Pub becomes The Acoustical
Tavern, featuring some of the area's finest
talent.
Saturday,
the 8th: Just Like Newman
Saturday,
the 15th: Bradley Royds
Saturday,
the 22nd: Toni Ann & Dave
Brown
Saturday,
the 29th: The Annual Halloween
Bash (event not
group) |
Saturday,
the 29th - Halloween at Seven Central
Special
menu. Special drinks. Special Irish tribute (since
like all things of merriment, it began with the
scary bunch over there). Plus, prizes for the best
costume, best performance and best something else.
Make a group reservation. (As always, nakedness
will not be considered a costume, men in diapers
will not be seated for dinner although they may
stand at the bar and truly ugly trolls may only
dine on the deck and look
in.) |
A
Little Rear View Look - Sports Night Grand
Finale Winners
As
always, everyone won at the recent Sports Night
Finale - some just won more than others. Sandra
Dankelman won the Trek Mountain bike from
Manchester's own Seaside Cycle. John Bartlett won
the Wilderness kayak from ERBA in Essex and Grant
Oliver won the much coveted set of Taylormade
Burner irons courtesy of Golfers Warehouse in
Danvers. It was a great fun
season and as always, our sponsors were the best
of the best. So, support them whenever and
wherever. They include Isle of Shoals Tours,
Ipswich Ale, Allen's Pharmacy, The Manchester
Athletic Club, Seaside Cycle, Essex River Cruises,
ClubXcel, Captain Dusty's, Blackstone
National, The Meadow at Peabody and Cape Ann
Golf Course. |

Plan Ahead - A M-E Rotary Poker Tournament
Mark
your calendar and your cards. The Manchester-Essex
Rotary Club will be sponsoring another Texas

Final
Thought (and ponderable)
At
the end of the month when all the scariness
officially ends, will the current political
candidates just take off their masks and declare
their recent frightening remarks as just silly
season fun?
Some
past said things make you just want to shake your
head - and other body parts - forever... or until
a shrug sets in.
Take
care, be well and stop by.
