Acoustic Tavern
Every Saturday Night

Just because we can - and want to - we've booked some great talent for your (and our) enjoyment:

Saturday, November 5:  John Rockwell
Saturday, November 12: Marina Evans
Saturday, November 19: Just Like Newman
Saturday, November 26: Bradley Royds

Reminds us  of Joan Baez, Van Morrison and Bob Dylan at Jordan Hall and other in-town haunts during the late sixties. Was it a better time then or now? (We'll take both.)
(If you think you're one the best new talents, contact Chris Shea or Chris Langathianos at The Landing for a possible gig.)

Other November Rememberables

Janice & Will will host Open Mic Night on Sundays, the 13th and 27th.

And don't forget our official Home Coming Night on Wednesday, the night before Turkey Day.  Plus, Wednesday is also Trivia Night in the Pub starting at 8:30. And remember, Friday is Landing Idol Night, also in The Pub.

Closed for Thanksgiving

To give thanks, we will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. We will reopen for lunch on Friday, November 26th, at 11:30 a.m. From all of us to all of you, best wishes to you and your families.

The Landing Idol
The Landing Idol Series continues - Every Friday
Good talent or bad, the hit series continues in The Pub, starting at 9 p.m.

Descriptions won't do so see and hear for yourself. It's fun for the watchers and the doers, so both say.

Thanks to our Weekly Sponsors

A hearty thanks goes out to all of our weekly sponsors, without whom, our fun programs wouldn't be possible:

Essex River Basin (tours and kayaks) Adventures, Seaside Cycle, Allen's Pharmacy, Blackstone National Golf Course, The Meadow at Peabody, Cape Ann Golf Course, Essex River Cruises, Golfers Warehouse, Ipswich Ale, Isles of Shoals Cruises, Club XCel,  A Singing Dog, Mimi , and Captain Dusty's.

 November Stuffings

November: the 11th month of the year from the Latin denoting the number nine. But, then again, November always starts on the same day as March and always ends on the same day as August... which is as logical as the voting on DWTS since November has 30 days and March and August have 31. Meanwhile in Ireland, November One marks the first day of winter. We assume the Irish raise a glass in tribute... just as they do for every other day. And you thought October was confusing... or was it just us?

But, there is no confusion about where to go and what to do this month. (For those still sorting out the DWTS voting... or the rationale for 'that' Halloween costume choice, we'll give you the answer rather than just a hint.) It's the Landing at Seven Central.

Dinner Specials
Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursday throughout the month, three course dinner in the dining room for $15 - your choice of a beef, poultry or fish entrée, with either soup or chowder plus the dessert du jour.

Also, don't forget on Fridays, we still offer our All You Can Eat Fish Fry for $14 and on Saturdays, you can enjoy our Prime Rib Special for $16.

 .

And Now On-line Reservations
For when you just don't want chit-chat about this, that or the other thing, now you can go on-line and reserve your table and time. Go to: TheLandingAt7Central.com and click on RESERVE or go directly to: OpenTable.com. Are we The Information Age or what? (Answer not required with your reservation.)

Free Pats Buffet
They may not play well with others but we will. Enjoy every Patriots game in The Pub and double enjoy free 'wings and nachos' every half-time.

Texas Hold 'Em Tourney - Saturday, the 5th
The almost annual Manchester-Essex Rotary Club poker tourney will hold 'em, fold 'em and play 'til the money's gone, starting at 5 p.m. in the Samuel Lee room. Play limited to 50 players. It's all for the benefit of the M-E Rotary's scholarship fund. Way sizeable cash prizes will be awarded. $90 in advance. $100 at the door. Call Chris Shea for details.

Gloucester's TimeBank Benefit - Tuesday, the 8th
As part of our ongoing Thankful Tuesday program, mention the TimeBank and we'll donate 20 percent of all you spend on food and drink to TimeBank.

As always, we're proud of what we're able to do with our Thankful Tuesday program and if you have a charitable organization you'd like us to help, let us know.

Saturday Night's Acoustic Tavern - Great Entertainment
Some of the best talent anywhere, every Saturday night in The Pub, starting around 9 p.m. No cover. No minimum. Just fun.

Saturday, November 5: John Rockwell

Saturday, November 12: Marina Evans

Saturday, November 19: Just Like Newman

Saturday, November 26: Bradley Royds

Ski & Winter Sports Night Returns to Thursdays
We're back... Chris Shea, a.k.a. Nanook of Table Three, will host the semi-predictable fun every Thursday in The Pub, starting around 8:45. As always, there will be multi-prize raffles and of course, the brain-draining Captain Dusty's trivia contest.

There will be lift ticket give-aways from Loon Mountain, Cranmore, Pat's Peak, Shawnee Peak, and Ragged Mountain, plus a bevy of goodly goodies from some very primo sponsors - Singleton Plumbing, East Coast Alpine, Ipswich Ale, Allen's Pharmacy, Seaside Cycle and ClubXcel.

Simply said, there is no better way to early start a fun weekend.

For Our Veterans On Veterans Day, the 11th
Come by, anytime from noon to 9 p.m. say hello and enjoy a cup of coffee and your choice of a dessert as our guests in the dinning room.

Closed for Thanksgiving
To give thanks, we will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. We will reopen for lunch on Friday, November 26th, at 11:30 a.m. From all of us to all of you, best wishes to you and your families.

Other November Rememberables
Our Celtic Music Sessions
shift to winter hours 5 to 8 - still with Michael O'Leary and Bob & Jean Strom, still in the Samuel Lee room, and as always great entertainment. Sessions this month are on the 6th and 20th. Join us.

Home Coming Night on Wednesday, the night before Turkey Day.
Plus, Wednesday is also Trivia Night in the Pub starting at 8:30. And remember, Friday is American Idol Night, also in The Pub.

The Cocktail and Mug clubbies
meet for supper on the first and third Mondays of each month - the 7th and 21st. The Wine Club people do the same on the second and fourth Mondays - 14th and 28th.

Janice & Will will host Open Mic Night on Sundays, the 13th and 27th.

Landing Tourney Leader Board Leaders San Leader
The 12th annual Landing Golf Tournament was contested at The Meadows in Peabody on October 18th. As so often happens in tournaments, some won and some lost. The names etched on the forever unseen trophy will now include:

First Place Low Gross Winners (of dubious distinction since they played as a four-man team with only two players, self-allowing two shots each on every shot - a definite no-no): Sean Costello and Matt Bickford. Second Place Low Gross: The Pat Runne team - four players; no skullduggery. First Place Low Net: The Rocky Rockwell team. Second Place Low Net: The Mike Coyne team. The team led by His Lordship finished safely. Post play commentary was minimal.

Final Thought (and Ponderable)
If there are 720 hours in November and it's the 11th month, does that make every hour the 11th hour?

Take care. Be well. And stop by. We'll talk about this 11th hour thing... if we get to it.

                                            Chris Shea with Steve Ryan

If you have suggestions or comments about this, that or the other thing, please let us know. Useful ideas that can help us always provide you with a memorable dining experience at The Landing are always worth a Thank You and a $25 dinner gift certificate.

Sincerely,
Chris Shea
