MOTHER'S DAY Sunday, May 9th

We will open for a brunch/lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Special menu offerings include Lobster Eggs Benedict, Lobster Frittata and a seafood quiche. Dinner will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Best wishes to the honorees will continue throughout the day and probably until the same day, next year. (Mothers never forget.)

Acoustic Tavern
May 8th & 22nd
The Acoustical Tavern Returns - Saturday, the 8th and 22nd
On alternate Saturdays, The Pub becomes The Acoustical Tavern - the North Shore's most fun place to see and hear the best new talent in the area.

(If you think you're one the best new talents, contact Chris Shea or Chris Langathianos at The Landing for a possible gig.)

ROTARY CLUB AUCTION

Rotary Club Auction - Saturday, the 8th
By request (of someone, perhaps, other than his own ownself), His Lordship has again donated a personal appearance and concert by the Erstwhiles to this year's Manchester-Essex Rotary Club Auction Evening - Saturday, the 8th, at the American Legion Hall. The evening will also be catered by The Landing. It will be a fun event.

LANDING IDOL SERIES CONTINUES

The Landing Idol Series continues - Every Friday
Good talent or bad, the hit series continues in The Pub, starting at 9 p.m. Descriptions won't do so see and hear for yourself. It's fun for the watchers and the doers, so both say.

May We?
 Mais Oui!

This early season uncertainty must end - golfers pleading for putts to drop, Republican posing the 'if only' possibilities of a recount, out-of-town codgers - probably from Cambridge - wandering the beach with their trousers rolled, pitifully mumbling about old age and uncaring mermaids, all the while repeatedly interrupting a good beach read with the same question from last season and the season before: Do I dare to eat a peach.

Enough. No more begging, beseeching and petitioning. Ready or not, The Season is here. Pouffy, eat the fruit!

And yes, J. Alfred Prufrock is the reason The Landing at Seven Central does not offer Peach Cobbler on the dessert menu - not now, maybe never - until it's in season.

But, we do offer some May happenings and specials to start The Best Season in our best fashion.

Let's Do Lunch

If George hasn't text-quested a mid-day sit-down at Lake Como, consider a drop-by at The Landing. We're open at 12 noon everyday.

Luncheon Special Delivery
Also, call ahead and we'll prepare a sandwich, soda, chips and a pickle to go, all for $10. (Special deliveries to Cleveland are extra.)
 .
May Dinner Specials
Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays: Baked Scrod, Tenderloin Tips or Chicken Marsala for $13. Plus, chowder, soup or salad for $1 more and a dessert special for an additional $1. (For the I'm-not-worthies, that's a full three course sumptuous supper for $15. (Same for the rest of us.)

On Fridays we will continue to offer our All You Can Eat Fish Fry for $14. On Saturdays, enjoy our Prime Rib Special for $16.

And after dinner (about 10 or when the spirit moves his titleness),  His Lordship will raffle off dinner for two for free plus an assortment of other treasures (including this season's finest and most fashionable apparel, a.k.a. a Landing golf shirt and/or sweatshirt). To qualify, just keep and present your dinner ticket.

Three Celtic Sessions
Three Celtic Sessions - Sundays, the 2nd, 16th & 30th
Our Celtic music sessions will shift to summer mode, i.e. we'll start at 6 p.m. instead of 5 p.m. and finish around 9 p.m.

As always, we'll have the same great talent: Michael O'Leary with Jen and Bob Strom plus guests and friends. And with the leaves on the trees and water in the canal, springtime through the big windows in the Samuel Lee room add to the atmosphere of the experience. Drop by. You'll stay and your true or wanna-be Irish soul will thank you.
Thankful Tuesday Benefit

Thankful Tuesday Benefit - Tuesday, the 25th
As part of our ongoing Thankful Tuesday program, there will be a benefit night for Manchester's Magic Years Nursery School on Tuesday, the 25th.

Come by, have dinner in support of the organization and we will make a contribution equal to 20 per cent of your total food and beverage purchase.

We also award a 5 per cent 'Thanks For Your Help' reward to any Landing Loyalty Club member who introduces The Landing's Thankful Tuesdays program to a local charity.

This is a real way to help a non-profit organization of your choice and enjoy an evening out. For more information and scheduling, call Chris Shea at The Landing (978 - 526 - 7494).

Other May Rememberables

Janice & Will will host Open Mic Night on Sundays, the 9th and 23rd - young performers from  6 to 7 p.m. Young-at-heart thereafter.

As always, Wednesday is Trivia Night and Thursdays  belong to The Landing's own Thursday Night Golf and Bike Night. Either night is a can't lose for warding off mid-week  blahs and blues.

Final thought (ponderable)

Because we care and in the spirit of comforting the condemned, we will award a free appetizer - and best wishes in the afterlife - to any poor soul who affirmatively responds to the perpetual question posed by every beloved since one and two-piece beachwear replaced skins and furs: Does this make me look fat?

Take care, be well and stop by.
