Acoustic Tavern
Every Saturday Night
The Acoustic Tavern offers fine local entertainment in The Pub every Saturday evening. In March we have Jake Pardee on the 5th, A very special night with Chris Phillips and Chelsea Berry on the 12th and Delvis on the 19th, and Just Like Newman on the 26th. And unlike a dubious recommendation from a vengeful spinster auntie about an earthy vegetable, we say try The Acoustc Tavern. It really is good and you like it - probably even ask for more. All shows are at 9pm. (If you think you're one the best new talents, contact Chris Shea or Chris Langathianos at The Landing for a possible gig.) |

It's just so confusing. Does March Madness refer to the NCAA college basketball tournament, National Cheerleaders Week, National Ghostwriters Week, The mushy, mushy Iditarod Race in Alaska or The World Rattlesnake Roundup in Sweetwater, Texas - all of which are March events? We're just not sure. But since National Procrastinators Week is also this month, we'll think about it later.
Meanwhile, whatever the reason, we have reason to celebrate and so we will.

March Dinner Specials - The Best For the Undecided
Our Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday Three Course Dinner for $15 is back in the dining room for March. We know there will be a choice of fish, poultry or beef entrees. But, night-to-night and/or week-to-week, it may be one fish dish or another - same for the others. Best bet: call for the nightly featured entree or just stop by and do some dining room deliberations. FYI: Every choice is a great choice - much like your dinner companion pick.
And of course, we still have our all-you-can-eat Friday Fish Fry for $15 and our Saturday Night Prime Rib Special for $17. Plus, as always, we're open for lunch every day starting at noon - 11:30 a.m. on Sundays.
March Madness Pool
NCAA Tournament squares - to fill-in, check-off, or sit next to - will be available before the tournament starts. As always, His Lordship will be acting... commissioner.
The Acoustic Tavern Features
Our increasingly popular Acoustic Tavern continues to draw top talent and rave reviews every Saturday evening in The Pub. And the March line-up is no less than the best local talent.
March 5th - Jake Pardee
March 12th - Chris Phillips and Chelsea Berry perform a special night of acoustic originals
March 19th - Delvis
March 26th - Just Like Newman
If you haven't made the pilgrimage to The Acoustic Tavern, save yourself the New York cover charge and the Vegas crowds. The talent's here and the up-close venue is way better than the nose-bleed seats of a stadium show.

Final Thought
Brent Musburger was not the first gadfly to use the term March Madness as credited in 1982. It was actually Henry Porter (no relation to Harry) who used the term in 1939 to describe the Illinois High School Basketball Tournament. And just so you know, The Big Dance is also a descriptor of the NCAA tournament... not a mean-spirited put-down of the half time routine of the Jumbo cheerleaders from Tufts University Take care, be well and stop by. Chris Shea with Steve Ryan
If you have suggestions or comments about this, that or the other thing, please let us know. Useful ideas that can help us always provide you with a memorable dining experience at The Landing are always worth a Thank You and a $25 dinner gift certificate.
Sincerely, Chris Shea M. P and F. P. |
