MARCH UPCOMING EVENTS

THE ACOUSTIC TAVERN SAT. MARCH 13TH · 9PM
Something New For Them, You (and us)
No
more voices crying in the wilderness. We're offering heat, light and a place to
play for The Chosen of the area's best new talent every Saturday evening in The
Pub.
They
will play and sing for their supper (actually just a libation or two) and your
enjoyment, starting at 9 p.m.
If
you remember coffee houses and walk-on talents like Bob Dylan, Judy Collins
and Joan Baez, you're older than we are but you might still enjoy new
talent performers as they begin the process of becoming really good and probable
future fodder for Star Magazine. This will be interesting... and fun.
For
those with the will, want and chops, contact Chris Shea or Chris Langathianos at The Landing (978 526 7494).

ST PATRICK'S DAY PARTY MARCH 17TH Noon - Midnight
Our
St. Patrick's Day celebrations begin at noon and will continue until The
Erstwhiles close the evening with their so-loved version of The Parting Glass.
From
then to then, there will be Irish music by some true Irish and other fine
singers who know the words. There is also word of a possible special guest
appearance (by he whose name we dare not mention) in the late afternoon or
early evening (depending upon flight connections).
There
will also be a menu special - The Landing's famed Corned Beef and Cabbage -
plus a barrel or two of St. Patrick's Best Ale from The Old Country's Strangfod
Lough Brewery.
And
at 6 p.m. or sometime thereabouts and then thereafter, The Erstwhiles will host
An Irish Event in The Pub. According to His Lordship, there will be songs,
stories, Irish Trivia questions with winning answer give-aways, plus assorted
versions, verses and renditions of The Wild Colonial Boy, and self-initiated
birthday best wishes to His Ownself.
All
in all, a good time will prevail. And according to His Lordship, Tom Foolery
and The Usual Shenanigans will arrive early and stay late. Attendance will be
taken.

Fun March
We
Will
No mincing, meandering, take-your-own-sweet-time lally-gagging.
This month, in the matters of finding fun, we will March.
We can do
no less for a month which begins Day One with National Beer Day in Iceland and a
celebration of Theodor Geisel's birthday on Day Two - he being the wicked
smart, Dartmouth grad, Oxford drop-out, super-simple-story-writing son of a zoo
keeper, who penned a small library of per-schooler 'quiet time' mommy-sanity-savers,
including the (so we say) semi-Irish mini-tome: Green Eggs And Ham.
And, of
course, March also hosts His Lordship's birthday, a.k.a. St. Patrick's Day,
which will be dutifully celebrated by the green-wearing world-wide, even by the
Welsh, who double-up celebrate with their own national recognition of St.
David's Day in March. (Are two Saint celebrations in a single month, one saint,
one celebration or one month too few or too many?)
But
anyway, why go there, when suitable March good times are right here at The
Landing at Seven Central?

Final thought (ponderable)
Shouldn't
there be some international 'help along' meeting to straighten out this Iceland
and Greenland wrong name/climate confusion - the green one's icy and the icy
one's green. I think. Maybe a simple, name/island swap - with an archipelago or
fvord to be named later - might be a suitable remedy. Of course, a world-wide
map recall might be necessary but Japan could help. What with Toyota, they have
take-back/fix-over experience and a army of automakers looking for work.
Final Final Thought
If March
One is National Beer Day in Iceland and in the spirit, they drink beer like big
and little fishies until an extra late 4 a.m., shouldn't March Two be declared
National Hang-over Day?
Take
care. Be well. And stop by...

Shea with Steve Ryan
