Summer

Re-Beginnings
Truth be told: June was a bummer.

It rained every minute of every day, or so it seemed.  Our new graduates thanked us for our years of support, then announced they were moving back (or staying) home. And, while his clients may end their days eating Cheese Whiz on weeds, Bernie Madoff got a guaranteed 'three hots and a cot' for the next 150 years. Meanwhile, our declaration that the recession was over may have been ever-so premature.

But, positive people as we are, we suggest: If June was a low achiever on the fun-o-meter, let's rededicate ourselves to having more fun in July than ever before.

And as always, The Landing at Seven Central will be July's official fun central - for some very good reasons.

Recession Dinner Specials Return
If we say the recession isn't over, then we can resume our dinner specials and no one can stop us!

Tuesday Two-Fers: Two entrees for the price of one throughout the month in the dining room.
Friday Night Fish Fry: All the fine, fresh haddock you can eat for $14.00 (per person, of course)
Prime Rib Saturday: Absolutely delicious King Cut Prime Rib for $22.00; same great Queen Cut for $18.00
Early Evening Special: Monday through Friday, from 4 to 6 p.m. Soup or salad, your choice of three entrees and a special dessert, all for $15.00.

We're doing everything we can to make Catering-by-the-Sea your primary resource for any party, gathering, event - big or small, indoors or out, here, there or any place else.

Simple said: If it matters to you, it maters to us. Call John Martin (978 821 5108) or Chris Shea at The Landing about our special offer. Ask what we can do to make your event memorable.

June Contest Winners
Susan Mathison won our June Food Trivia contest when she correctly answered that no part of the banana is used to make banana oil (a synthetic compound of amyl alcohol). It's so named because of its odor.

Nick Carter won our Birthday Imposter quizlet, when he called out former C.H.I.P.S. hunkie Erik Estrada as not born on the 5th of June, 1960. The 'old' Poncharello was actually born March 16, 1949.

Think you know the answers or can just out-guess the rest of us?

Try our Food Trivia quiz or our Birthday Imposter quizlet. They're fun and there are gift certificates and other prizes to be won.

Other June Rememberables
Mug & Cocktail Club members will get $10 off every food purchase on Monday, the 6th and again on Monday, the 20th.

Wine Clubbers get the same on Mondays, the 13th and 27th.

If you're not a member of one or both, sign up online or when you come in.

Also, don't forget Trivia Night with Brian every Wednesday in the Pub; our Golf, Bike & Summer Sports Night every Thursday in the Pub and our newly revised (and more fun) Friday Music Trivia Night in the Pub.

Final Thought
On the bright side of June's disappointments, the rain is good for the flowers. Home-stay graduates can weed the overgrown gardens. And if justice prevails - which it does - Bernie will have a roommie with questionable relationship standards. So, let the summer re-begin.

Take care. Be well. And stop by.

Chris Shea with Steve Ryan
If you have suggestions or comments about this, that or the other thing, please let us know. Useful ideas that can help us always provide you with a memorable dining experience at The Landing are always worth a Thank You and a $25 dinner gift certificate.
Sincerely,
Chris Shea
