Saturday Nights

Just because we can - and want to - we've booked some great talent for your (and our) enjoyment:

Saturday, January 21st:  Toni Ann Enes with Dave Brown
Saturday, January 28th: Just Like Newman

We will continue to offer live, local entertainment on Saturday nights, however, through the winter, our schedule will be more varied depending on the weekend.

The Landing Idol
The Landing Idol Series continues - Every Friday
Good talent or bad, the hit series continues in The Pub, starting at 9 p.m.

Descriptions won't do so see and hear for yourself. It's fun for the watchers and the doers, so both say.

Thanks to our Weekly Sponsors

A hearty thanks goes out to all of our weekly sponsors, without whom, our fun programs wouldn't be possible:

Essex River Basin (tours and kayaks) Adventures, Seaside Cycle, Allen's Pharmacy, Blackstone National Golf Course, The Meadow at Peabody, Cape Ann Golf Course, Essex River Cruises, Golfers Warehouse, Ipswich Ale, Isles of Shoals Cruises, Club XCel,  A Singing Dog, Mimi , and Captain Dusty's.
New Me Month

Frank Lee, we were none too pleased with any month last year. Delivery seldom met expectations. Truth be, we can't even unemotionally discuss our disappointment with September and the Red Sox.

And now, January shows up - Day One - empty handed.

We celebrated New Year's Day, a.k.a. Sloth Day - our annual day of couch reclining and continued seasonal overindulgence - with no college football bowl games. Zero, zip, zilch, nil, naught, nada. No Gator. No Rose. No Fiesta. We channel surfed ceaselessly and found only a tweener flag tag co-ed game hosted by K-Fed with color commentary by The Bieber. January... for shame.

And how quickly the Mighty 12  - months not Red Sox pitchers and divas - have forgotten. Until thirteen hundred years ago, we got along wicked fine with just ten months. It was Roman king Numa Pompilius who added January and February not us. Now, Numa is as out-of-town as Tito and we have two additional months of the drearies on the roster.

So, let's consider some changes. How about swapping three January Mondays for three Unseasonably Warms from April or two Partly Cloudies from August and a Sunny But Mild to be named later.

Until we can get the month commission to sign-off on the deal, we'll focus the good and faithful... particularly our January Favorites at The Landing at Seven Central.

 Our January On-Goings

Celtic Music Sessions with Michael O'Leary with Bob and Jen Strom in The Lee Room from 5 to 8 on Sundays - the 1st, 15th and 29th.
*  Janice & Will Open Mic Night on Sundays, the 8th and 22nd. Young warblers 6 to 7 p.m. Older song birds after 7.
Wednesday Trivia Night where minutia reins, rains or does both with prizes.
*  Thursday Ski & Winter Sports Night now with a weekly drawing of free lifts tickets plus our usual assortment of great gifts and prizes from the world's best sponsors..
* Friday Landing Idol Series Night where the wanna-be's compete to become just the be's. Whatever. It's fun.

And of course, there's always our Friday Night (All you can eat) Fish Fry for $15 and our Saturday Night Prime Rib Special for $17 - both highly rewarding experiences.

Plus...
5th Monday - the 31st

By tradition, the Cocktail and Mug clubbies meet for supper (and save money) on the first and third Mondays of each month (2nd and 16th). The Wine Club people do the same (sup and save) on the second and fourth Mondays (9th and 23rd).

But then, not so very often, there is a fifth Monday in a month and every Loyalty Club member (this means you) gets to supper at The Landing and save ($10 off of any food purchase).

And, if you're not a Loyalty Club member, no matter, you can sign up on the spot.

Time to Renew Landing Club Memberships

It's time to renew memberships in (or join) The Landing Wine, Mug or Cocktail Clubs for 2012. (Complete details and sign up.)

For those who have been out of town for a very long time, The Mug, Cocktail and Wine Clubs are select little groups whose members pay annual dues of $60. In return, they get a little more liquid every time they order their libation of choice during the entire year and they get a $10 discount on dinner TWICE every month. (Complete details and sign up.)
Save Even More With The Dinner Club

You get twelve coupons which can be applied toward the purchase of one entree (up to $20), one-each-month, throughout the year. Cost: $100 a year.  (Complete details and sign up.)

Simple said: Any Landing Club membership pays for itself many times over; the fun is a freebie. (Simple math: The earlier you join, the more you save.)

Final Thought

Adding January and February to the calendar.  Really?  What was Numa thinking?  He was probably a snow-boarder.

Take care, be well and stop by.

If you have suggestions or comments about this, that or the other thing, please let us know. Useful ideas that can help us always provide you with a memorable dining experience at The Landing are always worth a Thank You and a $25 dinner gift certificate.
