February
The Little Month That Does
|
|
January has New Year's Day. March has St. Patrick's
Day. Yet, February - the oft mispronounced little month of
only 28 days - has more must-fete
occasions than any big month. And as is our duty at
The Landing at Seven Central, fete we will.
Super Bowl Square Deal
Super Party - Sunday, the 1st
Here's the square deal for
the day: $25 gets you a 'steak' in the game and a half-time
buffet of prime rib, haddock and caesar salad. The
game starts at 6:30 p.m. Pregame positioning and warm-up
celebrating is recommended.
Celtic Session - Sundays,
the 1st and the 15th
Michael O'Leary with Jen and
Bob Strom may not lead rousing renditions of the Pittsburgh
or Arizona football fight songs, but they will provide - as
always - memorable music as our Celtic music session
series continues in the Samuel Lee room from 5 to 8 p.m.
Clubbers
Club - Mondays w/wo Punxsutawney Phil
Whether the rodent sees his
shadow or not, Mug & Cocktail Club
members will get $10 off every food
purchase on Monday, the 2nd and again on Monday, the 16th.
Wine Clubbers get the same on Mondays, the 9th and 23rd.
Feb's Special - Better than
the Bean Pot
The Bean
Pot offers outstanding college hockey on the first and
second Mondays of February but we're offering Loyalty Club
members free soup or chowder with an entree purchase on every
Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday during the month.
If you're not a Loyalty Club
member, sign
up online or when you come in. This is another of
our very own Recession Busters. Join us. Make Barak proud.
College IDs not required.
Open Mic
Nights - TWO Sundays, the 8th and 22nd
Janice and
Will will host Open Mic sessions in The Pub, starting
around 8 p.m.
Fido
Award Award
Wow-wow. It's that time again - The Westminster
Kennel Club Dog Show at Madison Garden on the 9th and 10th.
As
always, the 'best judge' Fido Awards will be conferred
during a
next day luncheon at Sardi's.
In
addition, His Lordship will award a 2009
DOGS OF SINGING BEACH calendar to any North
Shore Fido Award winner. A hearty woof-woof from all bar patrons
is also likely.
Valentine's
Day - Saturday, the 14th
Don't take a risk. A year of recriminations is a heavy
burden. Make reservations early.
President's
Day - Monday, the 16th
In
consideration of you, them and us, we will be open for lunch,
starting at 11:30.
Staff
Christmas Party - Tuesday, the 17th
We will
close early for the February(?) staff Christmas party. The last
seating for dinner will be at 7 p.m. Arrive later and all roles
reverse, which might be very confusing for all of us.
Le Grande
Wine Tasting - Wednesday, the 25th
There will
be another wine tasting in the Samuel Lee room on
Wednesday, the 25th from 6 to 8 p.m.
Sponsored
by Martinetti and Boston Wines, the session will feature more
than 30 wines - new selections from Martinetti and Boston as well as
favorites from our own wine list. The charge is $15 which
will cover wines and hors d'oeuvres.
Help Thankful
Tuesdays & Make Points
We'll continue
to award a 5 per cent 'Thanks For Your Help' reward to any Landing
Loyalty Club member who introduces The Landing's Thankful Tuesdays
program to a local charity.
This is a
real way to help a charity of your choice. For more information and
scheduling, call Chris Shea at The Landing (978 - 526 -
7494).
Private
Functions Win Two Ways
If you're planning a business or social event,
consider The Landing.
We can
host your event at The Landing or coordinate and cater the big
day on location. And, either way, you earn our five per cent Loyalty
Club 'thank you' for all event expenditures.
For more
information and scheduling, contact Chris Shea at The Landing (978 -
526 - 7494).
January Winners
Kevin Walker, a rookie, won the January
Cribbage tournament over our own Johnny Harnois. Each had a skunk but
both were well behaved and no complaints were filed.
The
Cribbagers will be again a-cribbaging in The Pub
on Sunday,the 15th.
Glitches
Continue
Regrettably, and
much to the chagrin of the all-knowing, a problem with our web site
server has resulted in our being unable to link-up your
answers to our Food Trivia and Birthday Imposter contests.
Our
attempts to accept your answers telepathically has resulted in our
getting some very inappropriate answers - for shame - and a massive
headache.
The
Westminster Show: Two days, 2,500 nervous
doggies. Nature calls - which nature always does. So, do we pray
for rain or just walk away and declare it a 'dirty job'
for Mike Roe?
Take
care. Be well. And stop by.

If you have suggestions or
comments about this, that or the other thing, please let us know.
Useful ideas that can help us always provide you with a
memorable dining experience at The Landing are always worth a Thank
You and a $25 dinner gift certificate.
Sincerely,
Chris Shea
