Saturday Nights

Just because we can - and want to - we've booked some great talent for your (and our) enjoyment:

Saturday, Dec 3:  Just Like Newman - Toy Drive and Meat Raffle
Saturday, Dec 31: Chris Phillips' plays our New Year's Bash

We will continue to offer live, local entertainment on Saturday nights, however, through the winter, our schedule will be more varied depending on the weekend.

The Landing Idol
The Landing Idol Series continues - Every Friday
Good talent or bad, the hit series continues in The Pub, starting at 9 p.m.

Descriptions won't do so see and hear for yourself. It's fun for the watchers and the doers, so both say.

Thanks to our Weekly Sponsors

A hearty thanks goes out to all of our weekly sponsors, without whom, our fun programs wouldn't be possible:

Essex River Basin (tours and kayaks) Adventures, Seaside Cycle, Allen's Pharmacy, Blackstone National Golf Course, The Meadow at Peabody, Cape Ann Golf Course, Essex River Cruises, Golfers Warehouse, Ipswich Ale, Isles of Shoals Cruises, Club XCel,  A Singing Dog, Mimi , and Captain Dusty's.
Another Christmas Conspiracy

Frank Lee, we're weary of the prattle. Claus and the deer voted and Rudolph - the little mutant - won the lifetime leadership position. So, unless the elfs mount a recall or dare to sully their tiny little hands in some nefarious form of selective deertricide, delivery of all our seasonal goodies rests on the navigational skills of a red-nosed reindeer.

Or, we can take personal responsibility and look elsewhere. And a good place to seek and find seasonal good times and goodies is The Landing at Seven Central...

Christmas by-the-Sea Festivities -
Thursday through Sunday, the 1st to the 4th

Cape Ann C of C Cocktail Party - Thursday, the 1st

The CACC Lucky Nines raffle and cocktail party will be in the Lee Room from 5 to 7 p.m. Free d'oeuvres with the purchase of a raffle ticket. It's a community-helping event. So if you feel lucky or just cordial, drop by. Win friends, prizes or both.

Christmas Shop Around - Friday, the 2nd

The annual Shop Around Town will be celebrated throughout the town. Sign up with a participating store and you'll save on all your purchases and qualify for the raffle of an Apple iPod at the Landing at 9 p.m. Arrive early and state after for our Friday Night Fun Landing Idol Series.

Mothers' Club Pancake - Saturday, the 3rd

Christmas by-the-sea weekend continues with a Pancake Breakfast at The Landing from 8 to 10 a.m. The proceeds go to The Manchester Mothers Club. It's the perfect way to start a winter weekend and help a good cause.

Stay the day or return to the Pub around 9 p.m. for JUST LIKE NEWMAN. In addition to a fun performance - as always, we'll also be collecting Children's Toys For Pathways  for Chrildren of Gloucester. And, we'll be posting our first Wholly Cow  Raffle(???).  Yes, cuts of a cow - rumps, loins, ribs, other - will be raffled off during the evening. So bring a toy, a sense of humor and enjoy the music. It will be an interesting evening.

Tree Lighting - Sunday, the 4th

Come by for hot chocolate for the kids and the Christmas Tree Lighting on The Green (across the street) at 4 p.m. and stay for our Celtic Music Session. Michael O'Leary is the host with Jen and Bob Strom from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Samuel Lee room. The venue is small and intimate. The music is authentic. It's almost like a personal concert and as always, it's well worth a stop by.

Cribbage Returns - Monday, the 5th
With the advent of colder weather, the cribbagers will move into the heat and light and will convene on the first Monday of each month in The Pub. In the November gathering, Lou Coulouras was the best of all, winning accolades for himself and tasty treats for any skunk of his choosing.

The Erstwhiles Wing In - Friday, the 17th
Blessed we be, The Erstwhiles will appear - maybe miraculously - in The Pub, perhaps around 9 p.m. to celebrate the Three-Quarter Way Day To St. Patrick's Day - a so oft forgotten day of note. A special guest may or may not join Erstwhile regulars: His Lordship, the venerable Arthur McGowen and the very talented but very unrelated Mike Shea.

Customer Appreciation - Monday, the 19th
Good cheer will abound plus a terrific complimentary buffet for all Loyalty Club members - this includes you, staring at 6 p.m.  By special request - from his own self or a paid requester somewhere - His Lordship and selected guests will perform a special rendition of The Twelve Days of Christmas. As always, the evening will be memorable.

Christmas Closing - Saturday & Sunday - the 24th, 25th
The last seating for dinner on Christmas Eve will be at 7 p.m. We will be closed all Christmas Day. We will reopen for lunch on Monday, the 26th.

New Year's Eve - Something Very Special
Bring friends, relatives, even complete strangers if they seem like they might be funsters and celebrate the last evening of the year at The Landing. There will be a sumptuous buffet, a champagne toast and Chris Phillips will be the featured performer. Other particulars will be forthcoming. But for certain, the evening will start around 9 p.m. and carry-on into the next year. For a good time, call 978-526-7494 (for reservations). THIS will be fun!

Other December Rememberables
Mug & Cocktail Club Supper Nights on the 5th & 19th. Wine Clubbies same thing on the 12th & 26th. Janice & Will will host Open Mic Night on Sunday, the 11th. Celtic Sessions on the 4th and 18th. Trivia Night with Brian on Wednesdays and Winter Sports Night - hosted by His Lordship - on Thursdays. Idols series every Friday.

And don't forget to stuff all unoccupied stockings with a Landing Club Gift Membership.

For $60, you can enroll a BFF, casual acquaintance, or a business associate in The Landing's Cocktail, Mug or Wine Club for a full year of benees. (Club members get larger servings of their choice beverage and a 'members only' half-price entree twice a month for a full year.)

Dinner Club Memberships
For the nearest, dearest and/or those who might control your destiny, consider a Landing Dinner Club membership as a great gift - $100 gets the giftee a $20 entree every month of the year.

(Of course, every club member automatically becomes a Loyalty Club member. And, Loyalty Club members earn a 5 per cent 'thank you' reward on every food or beverage purchase.)
Final Thought (and ponderable)

If the seasons come and go in North Pole land and with the seasons, the ice fields and igloos do the same - come and go, then who and what determines  Gerrymandering or does everyone just do a stack of proxy absentee ballots when they're in town every other year?

Happy Holidays to all of us.

Take care. Be well. And stop by.

If you have suggestions or comments about this, that or the other thing, please let us know. Useful ideas that can help us always provide you with a memorable dining experience at The Landing are always worth a Thank You and a $25 dinner gift certificate.
